Bath City FC Foundation Charity
This week has seen the launch of Bath City FC Community Sports Foundation. An initiative that Bath City FC hope will realise increased funding for the club through its activities and projects in the season's ahead.
The Bath office has donated £2500.00 to Bath City Football Club for their new Foundation. The cheque presentation was made before the Bath City V Barrow fixture on Saturday and was attended by James Perrett, Matthew Fowle, Amy Charman (not pictured due to her odd pig phobia) and Simon Boddy.
A number of representatives from Bath City are also featured including the new chairman Manda Rigby, player Jim Rollo, director of the Foundation Charity Pete Sellwood, Bath City FC director and film director Ken Loach and Adrienne Webber who is the Strategic Development Manager of the Football League Trust.
The Bath City FC Community Sports Foundation will be expanding the good work the Bath City Supporters Society has been doing and bringing it to a much wider range of schools and youth groups. Children will get the chance to improve their footballing skills, learn valuable lessons about teamwork and responsibility, and get to meet Bath City players too.
The Attacking Skills is a program where the club will be working with local primary school children supporting them to improve their communication skills through regular contact with the club and school visits from players. The club will also be applying for a grant to help promote the physical and mental health of young people within our community through sports related activities. With help from students at our two Bath universities we hope to provide coaching for secondary school girls to improve their football skills.
The donated money will also continue to support holiday time football clubs and organise half-time games for Bath City Youth FC teams at Twerton Park throughout the season.
Touchstone's first involvement with Bath City was through the Decorate a Pig competition in May where the mascot 'Bladud the Pig' came to the office to present a winning prize.
